Job Summary
The HR Officer serves as the operational backbone of the HR function, with a strong presence in Kapiri Mposhi and direct involvement in supporting border locations. This role is expected to execute core HR processes with accuracy and consistency, including recruitment, on boarding, documentation, compliance, and performance management. The Officer must maintain high standards of record-keeping, ensure coordination between sites, and act as a reliable point of contact for line managers, drivers, and support teams. This role demands initiative, strong coordination skills, and a hands-on approach to resolving day-to-day HR issues.

As our HR Officer, you will play a critical role in ensuring smooth day-to-day HR operations. You’ll work closely with line managers, drivers, and workshop teams, delivering consistent HR support while maintaining high standards of compliance and record-keeping.
Key Responsibilities
HR Operations
- Act as the first point of contact for HR-related queries
- Support workshop and driver management teams with HR policies and processes
- Ensure seamless HR service delivery across sites
Recruitment & Onboarding
- Coordinate recruitment for drivers and workshop staff
- Manage onboarding, documentation, and probation tracking
- Maintain accurate recruitment and employee records
Payroll Support
- Prepare and validate monthly payroll inputs
- Reconcile employee data and verify changes before payroll processing
- Work closely with line managers to ensure accuracy
Employee Relations
- Handle employee grievances and support line managers
- Lead disciplinary processes and investigations
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date disciplinary records
Employee Lifecycle Management
- Conduct exit and stay interviews
- Manage offboarding processes and documentation
- Track employee movements including transfers and exits
Compliance & Reporting
- Ensure compliance with statutory bodies (ZRA, NHIMA, NAPSA, HELSB)
- Compile HR reports and support audits
- Maintain legally compliant employee records
What We’re Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related field
- Minimum 5 years’ HR experience
- Strong knowledge of HR policies and labour laws
- Excellent organizational and multitasking skills
- Strong communication (written & verbal)
- Proficiency in MS Office and HRIS systems
- Ability to work independently and within a team
- Valid HR practicing licence
