ACCOUNTABILITIES & RESPONSIBILITY AREAS

Primary Responsibilities: 
Tax Compliance and Reporting: 

  • Prepare and file federal, state, and local tax returns for the organization, ensuring timely and accurate  submissions and resolve any tax issues or discrepancies identified. 
  • Manage the company’s tax compliance calendar, ensuring that all tax deadlines are met. ○ Stay updated on changes in tax legislation and communicate potential impact to the organization. 

Tax Planning: 

  • Assist in the development and implementation of tax strategies to minimize tax liabilities and optimize tax  positions.

  • Provide tax advice to management on business transactions and investment opportunities.
Audit Support: 
  • Coordinate and manage tax audits conducted by governmental authorities. 
  • Prepare necessary documentation and provide support during tax audits. 
  • Resolve any tax issues or discrepancies identified during audits. 


Financial Reporting: 

  • Assist in the preparation of tax-related financial statement disclosures. 
  • Work closely with the accounting team to ensure accurate reporting of tax positions in the financial  statements. 

Process Improvement: 

  • Identify opportunities for process improvements in tax reporting and compliance. 
  • Implement best practices to enhance the efficiency of tax-related processes. 

Communication and Collaboration: 

  • Liaise with external tax advisors and consultants as needed. 
  • Collaborate with internal departments to ensure alignment on tax-related matters. 

Secondary Responsibilities 

  • Assisting Head of Finance with other tasks as required and as appropriate based on experience Prepare Tax returns and payments by ensuring compliance with local regulations 
  • Direct external audits to ensure compliance and delivery of financial statements 
  • Ensuring that proper controls and policies are in place in the operations of the unit intending to efficiently  manage risks inherent therein and compliance with BOT, TRA, and any other regulatory and International  Accounting or International Financial Reporting Standards 
  • Keep abreast with developments in International Accounting standards and other regulatory bodies,  identification of opportunities arising from regulatory authorities’ loopholes (BOT, TRA, & Ministry of Finance and  industry in general), and ensure compliance thereof 

Work Environment 

  • Typical office environment with occasional extended hours during peak tax/audit seasons.

EDUCATION, SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field 
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is preferred 
  • 3-5 years of experience in tax accounting, preferably within a corporate or public accounting environment - Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations 
  • Proficiency in tax software and accounting software (SAP). 
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail. 
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills. 
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal 
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. 
  • Self-motivation, Attention to Detail & Deadline-Oriented 
  • High ethical standards and a commitment to confidentiality
